Built for Australian and NZ classrooms
Adaptive maths practice that
follows the Australian Curriculum.
The Australian Curriculum expects mathematical fluency to develop progressively from Foundation through Year 6. Adaptive practice — where difficulty adjusts to the child's actual performance — is the most efficient way to build that fluency without a fixed worksheet approach.
Adapts to the individual student
Every student in a Foundation classroom is at a different point. Adaptive practice means each student works at their own level — not the class average — which makes it effective for both students ahead of year-level expectations and those who need more consolidation time.
Australian English and metric contexts
Word problems use Australian English, AUD dollar amounts, and metric units (metres, kilometres, litres, kilograms). Students encounter familiar contexts — which reduces reading load and lets them focus on the mathematical reasoning.
Works on school iPads and home devices
No app to download, no software to install. ZestMath runs in any browser on iPads, Chromebooks, Windows laptops, and mobile phones. No student account is needed — which makes it suitable for shared school devices and home use without parental setup.
Year-level overview
What each year level
should be practising.
Foundation & Year 1
Counting and subitising to 20, addition and subtraction within 20, number representations, simple shapes. Foundation focuses on developing number sense; Year 1 begins formal addition and subtraction strategies.
Years 2–3
Addition and subtraction to 1,000, introduction to multiplication as equal groups, simple fractions (halves, quarters, thirds). Year 3 introduces formal multiplication and division and extends fraction understanding.
Years 4–5
Multiplication table fluency (all facts to 10×10 expected by Year 4). Long multiplication, short division. Equivalent fractions, adding fractions with same denominator, decimals to hundredths. Area and perimeter.
Year 6
All fraction operations including unlike denominators. Percentage of quantities. Ratio introduction. Multi-step word problems. Negative numbers. Algebraic thinking (simple equations and patterns). Solid preparation for Year 7 transition.
